You know what time it is...Week 3 Post

I've been doing a series around Red Light Therapy because it is a simple solution to a lot of problems that can cause discomfort, pain, and bigger problems.

This is the season for colds/flus, so I thought that it's only right to read on, and post about, the benefits of Red Light Therapy at the tail-end of a cold/flu.

Here's what I put together:

  1. Boosts Cellular Energy (Mitochondria Function)

    1. Red and near-infrared light (wavelengths around 630-850nm) penetrate skin and tissues, stimulating cytochrome c oxidase in mitochondria. This increases ATP (energy) production, giving immune and respiratory cells more energy to repair and regenerate.

      1. Helps speed up recovery from fatigue and muscle weakness common after viral illness

      2. Supports mucosal tissue healing in the nose, throat, and lungs

  2. Reduces Inflammation

    1. Down regulates pro-inflammatory cytokines and supports anti-inflammatory pathways.

      1. Can relieve sinus inflammation, sore throat, or chest tightness lingering after infection

      2. May help with post-viral inflammation such as lingering cough or "post-fly malaise (exhaustion)"

  3. Improves Circulation and Oxygenation

    1. Red light promotes nitric oxide release, which dilates blood vessels

      1. Enhances oxygen delivery to tissues

      2. Speeds removal of cellular waste and toxins after infection

      3. Supports lymphatic drainage to clear mucus and inflammatory debris

  4. Supports Immune System Modulation

    1. Studies show red light can stimulate imune cell ctivity while also calming overactive inflammation. This helps balance immune recovery - neither too sluggish nor too reactive.

      1. May shorten recovery time from viral fatigue

      2. Supports immune resilience to prevent reinfection

  5. Eases Post-Illness Symptoms

    1. Many people use Red Light Therapy for relief of symptoms that persist after a cold/flu:

      1. Sinus congestion

      2. Headache or brain fog

      3. Sleep disturbance

      4. General fatigue and muscle soreness

A short little read basically saying Red Light Therapy can help with inflammation, lingering congestion, and the exhaustion that is often felt towards the end of a cold/flu.

Again, if you have any thoughts, questions, etc you can comment here or drop me a private message about this or ideas that you would like me to cover in the future. If you have a session with me and would like to try Red Light Therapy, we can use this during your massage without any extra charge.

Have the best day Big Land!
